Abstinence

Abstinence

The major underlying testimonies given by young people who have participated in abstinence-until-marriage education attest to the fact that the message is not only realistic, but very beneficial and helpful. Many wish they had received this information sooner. Numerous young people express their gratitude that in today’s society with so many pressures, there are those willing to take the time to encourage them. The many faces of abstinence and those who have waited to have sex until marriage can testify that abstinence until marriage is still attainable, even in today’s society.

Secondary Virginity

What do you mean by "secondary virginity"?  Secondary virginity is just what it says.  A second chance at virginity.  Some people define virginity as a purely physical condition.  You either are, or you're not, a virgin.  But secondary virginity goes beyond that and looks at the purity not only of the body, but also of the mind and the spirit.  It's true that once you have had sex you can't undo it, but you can start over.  You can make a decision to stop having sex until you are in a long-term mutually monogamous relationship (marriage).  Abstinence is the thinking person's choice that protects you from pregnancy, disease, emotional pain and is 100% effective every time you practice it.  In making a commitment to secondary virginity you have made a commitment to yourself, your health, your future spouse and your life.  It is not the easiest choice, but it is the most rewarding.

Counseling

Abstinence counseling is available to teens, singles and parents.  Realistic and simple guidelines are provided to help you practice abstinence confidently.  Counselors are available to talk to you about setting physical limits, dating situations, refusal skills, self esteem issues and answer any questions you may have about health risks, unplanned pregnancy or any other concerns.  Counseling is free and available by appointment.
